Your name, email address, date of birth, country and language; your legal name and the result of identity checks; your profile, portfolio, proposals, jobs and messages; records of contracts, payments and withdrawals; and technical details such as your IP address and browser when you log in.
Why we use it
To run the marketplace, to check that members are adults and who they say they are, to take and pay out money, to keep people safe and stop fraud, to send the emails you ask for and the ones we must send, and to meet our legal duties.
Who sees it
Other members see only what you put on your profile and in your proposals and messages. We share data with the companies that process payments, identity checks and payouts for us, and with our staff when needed for safety or a dispute. We share with authorities only when the law requires it. We do not sell your data.
Your ID and date of birth
Your legal name and date of birth are used only for age and identity checks and are never shown to other members. Identity documents are handled by our identity provider; we keep the result of the check.
Projects from the Kids Coding Platform
If you bring projects or certificates from the Kids Coding Platform, we receive only what you choose to import, and only after you start the transfer here.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you close it, we remove your email, password, legal name, profile, portfolio, bank details, and the IP addresses and browsers you signed in from. We keep your date of birth, the result of your identity check, and the records of your contracts, reviews, payments and invoices for as long as the law requires.
Your choices
You can correct your details in Settings, choose which emails you get, and close your account. You can also ask us what we hold about you or ask us to fix or delete it where the law gives you that right.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser’s storage to remember whether you chose Work or Hire and which organisation you use. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
We protect data in transit and at rest, limit who on our team can see it, and record what staff do. Turn on two-factor sign-in to protect your own account.
